Finally, my UFO Challenge Goals for 2011

Oh my word, I am so motivated to get my UFOs finished, but as I stand here, looking at ALL these projects, I am having a very hard time choosing – kind of like choosing a favorite child; I love everyone, and want to get them all done, but I must choose…

So here it goes...
These little runners need quilting, binding, and labels

 The bag on the left is quilted and needs to be assembled;
the one on the right is pieced and has to be quilted and assembled.

This runner and throw only need binding and labels!

Thimbleberries 2006 Block of the Month: center is done, borders are pieced,
just need to assemble the top, quilt it, and label it.

Moose on the Porch Jelly Roll Challenge
7 blocks to go, borders, quilting, binding and label!

 Need quilting, binding and label

A little more work on the applique, borders,
quilting, binding, and a label! This is one of my favorites.

Fun chickens: Appliques need to be stitched down (raw-edge),
sashing, borders, quilt, bind, and label.

Bridge from a photograph I took in Lancaster, PA. Applique almost finished,
needs detail and shading (paints, pens, etc.), quilting, binding, and label.

These only need binding and labels!

And these, only need binding and labels too!

I am so ready!!!

Design Wall Monday

I love Christmas, but I am so glad to get back to quilting and planning for the next year. Last year I followed Bunny Hill Designs free Block of the Month and finally finished in October this year. So of course, I had to do it this year too. So far, this is all I've done and hope to get it finished in a lot less time than the previous one! Ha!

On my design wall are three little blocks that are ready to be stitched down. I love to do turned-edge applique using starch and my mini-iron.

 For Katherine
 For Bernadine
 For Marvie
and...

I have 10 more to go, I must be nuts.  Oh, I have to have one for myself too, right?

Honeybee's Gift

It's Honeybee's Christmas Party time and this is what I made for my White Elephant gift:

I started out looking for a mug with a honeybee theme, but had no luck, so just a few days before our party, I found this great cookie jar at Marshall's, and 2 days before the party, made this cute little wall hanging. I used a block from the pattern "Home in the Middle" by Holly Mabutas of Eat Cake Graphics. And since it's such a cute one, I plan on making this quilt in 2011.

And look...

I was in such a hurry, that I forgot to reverse the patter for raw-edge appliqué...ha! Not fun when you're trying to lay the pieces down...

You can find the pattern here: http://eatcakegraphics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=26&products_id=683
