#6 is finished!!!

I started this in 2006 after making a sample for the LQS I worked for at the time, and if it weren't for this Challenge, it would still be waiting. The pattern is from Eleanor Burns' book Still Stripping and it's a log cabin with appliquéd half circles.

56"x76"

The third little border is a folded border.

Thanks for the Challenge Judy.

Baby quilt

I have been looking for a quick pattern and "purple" fabric for a baby quilt, so Friday, during lunch brake, I went to my LQS and found this cute little kit with lots of purple in it. That evening, I cut and sewed the whole thing, got up Saturday am and quilted it. It's been bound, labeled and delivered. Just love the bright fabrics, and hope baby Ryleigh will enjoy it for a long time.

New Go!

My DH gave me a Go! Fabric Cutter for Christmas and I am in love!

I've only used the 2 1/4" strip die
and cut the binding for 4 quilts in less than 10 minutes. Now I want every die available...

Design Wall Monday

On my design wall this Monday is my finished "Frozen Milk" wall hanging that was started back in 2009! I completed this for one of my PhD Challenge quilts with Myra. My DH suggested I quilt wind behind the cows, which turned out "exactly as I suggested" said he! I love it when he gets involved in my projects, he has a great eye for design. Now the binding was tricky; I tried the blue on the border, the red on the fence, the light blue and snow, but in the end, the bright stripe won, and boy does it stand out!

Design Wall Monday

On my Design Wall today, is a Block of the Month I started designing for my sewing group last year, but as you all know, sometimes life gets in the way and disrupts our plans a little, so I decided to make it a priority and hope to get it completed within the next two weeks. So yesterday, I finished designing the remaining six blocks for the center, figured out the cutting instructions, cut everything, and now I just need to sit down and sew away. It feels great to make such progress.

7 finished blocks

Cut and ready to sew

This is one of the first drafs - several of the blocks have been simplified :)
